Oenology gastronomy
The oeno-gastronomic patrimony of Verona has its roots in the tradition of good cooking.
The area of Verona expands from Lake Garda to the Lessini Mountains, bordering with provinces notoriously dedicated to wonderful cuisine.
This geographical heterogeneity offers different kinds of dishes, which go from the lightness of fish to the strong specialities of the mountains. The following typical recipes can be tasted in the restaurants of this area: Rise with Tastasal; Boiled meat with Pearà; Valeggio's Tortellini; Polenta and Osei and Pastisada de Caval (a speciality with horse meat).
Between the typical sweet things there are the Sbrisolona Cake and the famous and incomparable Pandoro of Verona, unquestioned protagonist of the Christmas dishes. The whole is served up with the white and red wines coming from the original areas. |
